ABOUT

Ralph is a bilingual actor and a national of Switzerland, the UK as well as Germany. Right from his youth, he appeared in several Swiss films and tv productions. He trained as an actor at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester where he also gained his first professional experiences on the stage as the lead in Hamlet and in other public performances.

After graduation he appeared in various stage productions in the North of England and acted in a number of UK films and television series, alongside actors such as Udo Kier, Brenda Blethyn, Alun Armstrong and Norman Wisdom. During this period, he was also given his first dramatic lead in a feature film (Dario M) and was subsequently nominated for Best Lead Performance at the Swiss National Film Prize 2004.

On stage Ralph appeared in the original line up of Blonde Bombshells of 1943 by Alan Plater at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds as well as in the West End hit show Journey's End, directed by David Grindley. TV credits in the UK include Doctors (BBC1), Coronation Street (ITV), Casualty 1909 (BBC1) and The Clash of the Santas (ITV). Back in Switzerland he has starred in Havarie by Oscar winner Xavier Koller and as a regular in season 5 of Der Bestatter (The Undertaker) on SF1.

In recent years Ralph has had an increasing amount of work in Germany where he is best known for his appearances in some of the popular Tatort films (ARD), his regular role in the tv series Die Fallers (SWR) and various productions for ZDF.
